Great location in the heart of a charming village, the hostel had friendly staff and comfortable rooms. The building was historic and well-maintained, with plenty of showers, hot water, and clean restrooms. The breakfast was delicious with good coffee and generous portions. The packed lunch was also a highlight, perfect for a long day of hiking.
Parking was a challenge - despite being promised a spot there were none available upon arrival. The lack of clear signage made it hard to find the building at first.

We stayed in a hostel situated at the heart of a picturesque village with a beautiful view of the garden from our window. It was just across a lovely pub ideal for dinner. We enjoyed our breakfast in the conservatory. the hostel was a good alternative as all hotels in the nearby Lake District were fully booked. the staff went above and beyond with their friendly and helpful service.
The mattresses were uncomfortable and led to a restless night of sleep.

We stayed in a lovely village, with an amazing view of the village green from our room. We were directly opposite a cracking pub that served excellent food. the conservatory where we enjoyed breakfast had a stunning view of the surroundings.
The bathrooms, although reasonably clean, could do with some updating.

We had a wonderful stay at YHA Dufton during our journey to Scotland. The location was perfect for breaking up our trip, and the friendly and helpful staff made us feel welcome. The hostel had a peaceful atmosphere with stunning views and a family-friendly garden. We loved the unique touch of the felted wall hanging by local school children in the conservatory where we enjoyed our delicious breakfast.
Would recommend this hotel.

During my stay at Yha Dufton, I was warmly welcomed by the friendly and helpful staff. The hostel itself is located in a picturesque village, surrounded by beautiful hills, providing a peaceful and relaxing atmosphere. The bed was comfortable and the duvet and pillows were in great condition.
Although there were a few minor drawbacks mentioned in other reviews, such as the lack of Wi-Fi and a small sign for the hostel, these did not overshadow the overall positive experience I had. The friendly staff, comfortable accommodation, and the stunning location made my stay enjoyable.

The access to nature and local wildlife is fantastic in this remote location. Being able to immerse myself in the countryside with great walking and cycling paths was a definite highlight. the facilities available for meals and cooking were really useful and saved money on eating out. Finally, the overall value for money was excellent.
My room was not the cleanest and I found some dirty bedding upon arrival. I couldn't get to sleep right away as the bed was uncomfortable and the pillow was too thin.
